Not Quite Oriental by IonToon Not Quite Oriental by IonToon
Well the name suggests it all with my half ass attempt at anime. Not eastern or western but somewhere in-between.

I kind of had a dilemma with the linework. Should I have gone back to the solid linework or do it the some as the previse artwork. The previse linework suits this image much better because it shows a little bit more motion. The colouring process was the same as the lost image just a little better.

This is the lost human character that Keith(main character in my story) talk to before he dies. While trying to hitchhike the two discuss what they think happens in the afterlife and near death experiences. Jud eventually get a lift but have to leave Keith behind. The two do meet up again in the afterlife in a weird circumstance.

Iím still working on the story but I have done a lot of fixes. I think that Iím just too lazy finish it. Maybe a good kick in the ass to get me started again.

I hope that all of you like it.

Ehh we all have our experiments-- I really enjoy the way your linework moves my eyes throughout the composition! Great use of line movement-- and I must say- I really like the shapes you use!

Sorry for the late response.

I actually find it's really hard to guide a person eyes across a work. I do try my best to show body language with linework and colouring...does not always work thou.LOL

Thank you very much it means a lot to me. :)

Yeah I have issues with that too--- but sometimes you have to sacrifice realism just to get the right line movement. :)

in my opinion
this pic is not a bad attempt at anime :D
it looks good
it definitely hast a western air as you said
but the picture is quite uniform :D
i actually like it this style somewhere between western and oriental

i guess the only thing thats buggin me about this pic is that the girl looks too too much like a guy
i dunno, i only realized it was a girl when i saw her chest
he face is like a boys
but she is suppose to be a tom boy right so

good job none the less :D

Thank you and you are right about the tomboyish look but I still think that I could have made her just a tad more feminine. I still think that I need a lot more of practise before my anime is relatively good. Some of the anime artists here on DA are just insane.

Thank you for the awesome crit. :)
